This trip will encompass Rockhounding opportunities around Abiquiu New Mexico. The plan is to do day trips, based from Kent’s Home in Abiquiu. Day trips will include, but are not limited to, Agate hunting, trip to Ghost Ranch’s Ruth Hall Museum of Paleontology, petrified wood, pigmatite mineral, mica mines.

Travel from Anchorage to Abiquiu entails flights into (Abq) Albuquerque, Rental of high clearance vehicle, then on to Abiquiu via Santa Fe.
or
Travel from Anchorage on flights into Denver then into Santa Fe , Rental of high clearance vehicle, then on to Abiquiu .


The drive from Albuquerque to Abiquiu is about 2 hrs.
The drive from Santa Fe is about 1 hour.
