Then on to Fairbanks ice Museum \n\n\n\n Main event\, Saturday\, Meet at UA Museum of the North at 12:30 for Guided “Behind the Scenes Tour” at UA Museum of the North (limit 15).  After tour head to Chena Hot Springs\, soak in Chena Hot Springs. \n\n\n\nSunday\,   Leave Fairbanks Drive back home Sun or Mon. SUMMARY:Road to Eagle\, rock collecting
DESCRIPTION:This is a last minute excursion to Eagle Alaska rock collecting. Andras is looking for adventurous soles to travel along with there own vehicles.  This is not a CGMS sponsored trip.  The planned itinerary goes like this:  Leave Anchorage at 3PM on Friday September 5th\, drive as far as possible that afternoon and evening stopping in or just passed Tok.  Camp for the evening.  Saturday morning break camp and get on road by 5AM.  Drive to Eagle\, turning around at the asbestos vein and collect rocks back to milepost 11 of the Taylor Highway\, where the basalt columns are.  After that you can choose to camp with us or head your separate way.  Sunday morning break camp at 5AM again and head for Delta Junction and take the Richardson Highway back to Glennallen\, stopping by Rainbow Ridge for a few hours to collect.  Planning on returning to Anchorage Sunday evening or Monday morning.  This is a long haul in a short time.  Pack light.   Contact Andras if interested in joining the trip.
